Submitting Recommended Eligibility Information (Approved)

If you agree with all values that have system generated for the eligibility approval, you may submit the eligibility by clicking on the Submit button.  As a result, the Determine Child Eligibility page (SB0032) is displayed.

The following information is presented for each child who has been entered on the application to receive care:

Child's Name

This information comes forward from the Child Care Schedule and cannot be changed.

Age Category

The Age Category is system-generated based on the following table:

Infant                         Birth to < 2

Toddler                       2 to < 3

Preschool                  3 to < 6

School Age                6 to <13th birthday (or <19 if special needs)

Hours per Week

The hours per week have been calculated by the entries made in Section 5 of 7:  Child Care Schedules (SB0030).  They may be changed at this time if appropriate.

Start Date

The start date defaults to the date as described below:

The date of the Application determines the Eligibility Begin Date for clients not PATH, Protective Services, or Family Support.

For those clients referred from PATH, Protective Services, or Family Support, the initial Eligibility Begin Date cannot precede the initial Authorization Date.

This date may be changed within the confines outlined in the Business Rules in Eligibility Determination.

End Date

The end date defaults to the date as described below:

Default Eligibility End Date to:  Family Support clients - 6 months from Eligibility Begin; Protective Services clients - as indicated on the Authorization; All other clients - 12 months from Eligibility Begin.  The default value for Eligibility End Date is 12 months from Eligibility Start, except for PATH and Protective Services referrals which are governed by the end date established on their referrals.

Last day of eligibility is the day before the child's birthday of either 13 or 19 (Special Needs) as appropriate.  Eligibility for one child in the family can therefore end before the family's eligibility ends.

This date may be changed within the confines outlined in the Business Rules in Eligibility Determination.
