Closing a Subsidy Case (General)
Once it has been determined that a subsidy case should no longer be active, the case may be closed. In order for a Subsidy Case to be made inactive, all active certificates and authorizations have to be ended. When attempting to change the status of a case from Active to Inactive, there is a system edit generated to alert the user that there are active Authorizations and Certificates. These items would have to be closed manually prior to completing the change in status.
If you do access the Case Status page without checking Authorizations and Certificates, cancel out of this step. On the Account Summary page, you will see a list of the Certificates. You may end them from here or access the Eligibility page. If you do so from the Eligibility page, you will see all information about the Certificates and Authorizations in the same place. Access the Eligibility page.
End Certificates
End each Certificate using today's date.
End Authorizations
End each Authorization using today's date.
For future authorizations, enter the End Date for the same date as the Start Date as.
When you have completed these steps, return to the Eligibility page and review all Certificates and Authorizations to make sure that the end dates have been entered correctly.
