Overview for Enrollment Process

As described in the Intake and Eligibility Chapter, the CCIS automatically determines eligibility using the data submitted, system tables outlining eligibility income and family size requirements, and coded business rules specific to Vermont. The CCIS will also automatically determine the Hours per Week that child care is needed based on the parents' and child's schedule.

If determined to be eligible, the next task is to enroll the child with the provider selected by the parent. This linkage produces the Certificate that advises the parent and provider of the currently authorized period, and care level, while also providing contact and demographic information about the parent, child, provider, and worker.

Children can also be authorized for transportation, found to have a documented special need, or require special assistance and aid.
