Overview for LECC Application Process

This object collects information about the parent who will be the recipient of LECC services, information about the provider of these services, and information identifying people in the LECC household and the authorization to conduct a record check on these individuals.

Parent Information

This element captures the parent's demographic data, his/her understanding of the application process and whether they will participate electronically.

The parent will be selected from the population of eligible subsidy parents in the CCIS

Child Care Provider Information

This element captures the child care provider's demographic data, Foster Parent status, whether he/she will participate electronically, and information about residents in the home.

Household Members and Record Check Authorizations

The Resident of the LECC home grants his/her authorization for the State to conduct a background check.  A record check and record check authorization are required on any resident aged 16 and older if care is to be provided in the provider's home.

Record checks may be performed against the following databases: VCAS - Court System, VCIC - Criminal History, Child Abuse Registry, Adult Abuse Registry, and Department of Motor Vehicle.

If a criminal or abuse background is found that would disqualify the applicant from being a provider in accordance with LECC regulations, the regulatory problem will be used to deny the application.  A Certificate will not be issued if the LECC applicant or a Household member fails a records check.

LECC Program Information

The LECC Program Detail captures the status of the applicant's compliance with specific state requirements.

LECC Outcome Notice

This functionality generates a notice to the worker who initiated the application to inform them of the outcome of the application.

This notice is sent to the worker who initiated the LECC application once an outcome has been established.  The outcome will either be a denial from the denial letter or a certificate from the certificate issuance.
