Overview for Qualifications

The Qualifications functions maintain information about child care positions and the qualifications someone must have to be in a specified position.  It also documents the credentials, education, work experience and program participation of individual staff.

The system assists in the management of information about the qualifications and professional growth of provider staff in six different areas:

1.  Work Experience relevant to child care and early childhood development;

2.  Formal Education resulting in a degree, diploma or certificate;

3.  Credentials in from a recognized credentialing organization;

4.  Participation in a program leading to a degree, diploma certificate or credential;

5.  Higher Education coursework; and

6.  Participation in Professional Development seminars and workshops.

 

In addition, the system allows for the creation and maintenance of Individualized Professional Development Plans and the evaluations of Provider staff qualifications against the requirements for the positions that they hold in the provider organization.
