Provider - Record New Rates
To record a new Provider Rate, select Record New Rates from the Provider Rate Options at the bottom of the Provider Rates page. As a result, the Record New Provider Rates page (RA0009) is presented. On this page, enter the information as described for the following fields.
The following rules and guidelines apply to the Provider Rate Agreement.
A current agreement is defined as the rate agreement in effect on the current date.
Provider Rate Agreement page (RA0010) always displays current rates. Record New Rates page (RA0009) is prefilled with current rate agreement data with the new Begin Date set as one day after current End Date. This schema prevents overlapping effective rates.
History displays all previous, current, and future valid rates.
All edits are treated as new agreements.
The Begin Date of a Provider Rate Agreement has to line up with the beginning of a Service Period; the End Date has to line up with the ending of a Service Period.
Rate Agreements cannot overlap.
If a new Rate Agreement is created with a Begin Date that is before a valid existing current/future agreement's End Date, the End Date of the existing agreement will be moved to one day prior to the Begin Date of the new Rate Agreement.
New Rate Agreements cannot overlap with existing expired agreements. It is an error. New Rate Agreements must have a Begin Date in the future over the current Service Period. For example, today is 10/18/04, current Service Period is 10/17/04 to 10/30/04, and the new agreement can only start 10/30/04.
All Rate Agreement entries are logged under Provider Account Option named Case Activities.
